THIS IS MY STORY

Hi I’m Ashley!

After losing my job, I got rid of my apartment in Los Angeles to travel the world and live in hotels (usually Marriott) full-time and vlog about my experiences on my YouTube channel, In Search of Traveler.

In 2020, I stayed 103 nights at Marriott properties for $4356, a $42 nightly average and includes properties like the Ritz Carlton in Cancun & W in Midtown Atlanta.

I am passionate about teaching others how affordable travel can be while sharing my experiences as I continue to travel, eat, explore, and live in hotels full-time for $500/week.

Despite what you may hear, you can get inexpensive point redemptions at Marriott properties. I was able to snag a 25,000 point redemption at @moxyputrajayahotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. R#blacktravel member to always book your redemptions in multiples of 5 with Marriott which will give you 1 night for free for every 5 nights.

It’s a bit outside the city center but my Grab ride share was cheap, only about $10 for a 45 minute ride.

The property is in a resort community and right next door to an amazing mall with fancy stores like Lululemon, Tom Ford, YSL & Chanel.

The property is only a couple years old and offers platinum elite members or higher a welcome gift of free breakfast, food and beverage credit or points. They also give a free welcome drink to redeem at the hotel bar!

They are carving an entire cow at the grocery store! 🤯

I love foreign grocery stores becuase the food is always so much fresher than in the USA and they just do things differently. I’ve never seen an animal being broken down in the middle of a grocery store. It was incredible to watch!

I love going to grocery stores while traveling abroad because of all of the new foods I get to try along with seeing a lot of my favorites being prepared in a more healthy way.

Oh and btw eggs here are way cheaper than in the USA 🤣 only about $2 for a Costco size carton!
